Message from the Director

My husband, Gordon and I opened our first nursery, Bedwas House in 2007 followed by Monmouth House Nursery in  2011. I am a very hands on director and understand that your peace of mind is paramount to the wellbeing of your child. I am dedicated to ensuring that my team and I maintain our commitment to customer service.

Our aim for this Nursery is to provide an excellent service to you and your family, and to work in partnership with yourself in ensuring that your child receives the best start in their Early Years time with us as possible. We will work with you in partnership to ensure that your child grows to their full potential with high self-esteem and confidence, allowing them to develop positive dispositions towards learning. We aim to prepare a child for the Foundation Phase Curriculum at the start of formal schooling through the medium of play and learning.

PLAY is the method of which children gain all the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to fulfil their potential. Play is fun, exciting and productive.

LEARNING Is the process of absorbing information, experiences, opportunities and concepts to develop emotionally, physically, intellectually, linguistically, socially and creatively.
We aim to assist these processes by providing a variety of activities and experiences to allow each child to grow at their own rate to:

  • HAVE FUN
  • LEARN NEW SKILLS
  • EXPERIMENT
  • USE THEIR SENSES TO UNDERSTAND AND GAIN KNOWLEDGE
  • COLLECT INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR WORLD AND THE ENVIRONMENT, PEOPLE, ANIMALS AND INSECTS AROUND THEM
  • LEARN THE CRUCIAL ACT OF SHARING
  • PROMOTE THEIR WELSH LANGUAGE SKILL

We have worked hard in ensuring that all the staff at Bedwas House Nursery, have been selected not only with excellent professional skills, approach and a commitment to provide the best childcare possible, but have bags of energy and are able to laugh, which is also an important skill for any person working with children.  All staff come with excellent references and of course will have been cleared at an enhanced level by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), which clears them to work with children of all ages.

It is paramount to all of us at Bedwas House Nursery to provide a setting which enables you to have total peace of mind that your child is in a safe, warm and friendly environment.

Mrs Karen Pritchard
